Chelsea Chelsea

Well, the new 2016/2017 Premier League season is now less than 24 hours away and I just can’t wait for it to start now. Yes, we’ve got to wait until Monday evening for our game and season to officially kick off, but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited.

Pre-season has come and gone with some suggesting our new manager arrived a bit late to take full control and get things in place. I’m not so sure, in hindsight I suppose you could say it would of been better to get in a little bit earlier but in all honestly would if made that much of a difference. Suppose we’ll never know.

Anyway, pre-season went like below, with four wins out of six games against some very random opposition from around Europe, plus Liverpool. I’m still not one to read too much into pre-season warm up games, but scoring 13 goals in those six games does bring me a slight degree of excitement moving forward. Yes we conceded eight as well, but with new players still bedding and now a good full week and a bit of training, I think we’ll be good to go on Monday against them lot from the east end.

More so after I heard that Payet, their best player last year, is a doubt for the game, but enough about them. We had an awful start to last season, but again enough about that. Another season, fresh start, new £30mil players in Batshuayi from Marseille and Kante from Leicester. Plus John Terry was finally offered and signed a new one contract too. Come on, things are surely going to click into place again, lets hope so. Three points on Monday for sure I reckon.

Also, starting next week and every week after throughout the Premier League season, we’ll be bringing you our brand new blog called ‘Chelsea Tuesday’. Where we’ll either give you a review of a game, a preview of a game or even just some news or opinion of what has happened with in our football club that week.

We don’t want to be predictable each week, so we’ll just pick up on something and run with that. Obviously next week it’s going to have to be a review of our opening league game at home to West Ham as mentioned. Enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you next week on Chelsea Tuesday!
