Keep quiet and bring on March

Everything we are doing at the moment is so positive as we take each game at a time. That is all we can do too. I love the fact now that we’re never in the news, unlike other London clubs that are apparently ‘challenging’ for the league title. We’re just preparing well, turning up for our game and getting the job done. Every now and again we have a slip up, but compared to other teams our slip ups are currently an odd away draw every three or four weeks. If we keep going like that until the end of the season then I think we’ll be okay, so lets keep our heads down and continue on this new undefeated run.

We only have three games this month, two potentially tricky away league games but I’ll take a draw and win from those two games now. Then hopefully we can continue our FA Cup run against Manchester United next weekend, they’ll certainly put in a different performance to when we spanked them 4-0 earlier on in the season though.

As mentioned at the start of the calendar year, myself and a couple of friends are doing a Sky Sports Super 6 game points system as we have decided to try to predict our results for the remainder of the season. All for a bit of fun to see how we’d do. You’d be more than welcome to join us if you like, just get in contact? I had a great month by getting all our results correct and our mini-league at the end of February stands like this:

Oliver – 27 points in total (6 correct results, 3 correct score)
Alexis – 20 points in total (4 correct results, 2 correct score)
George – 15 points in total (4 correct results, 1 correct score)

Below then are the fixtures for the month of March, before each game we’ll do our predictions and update the blog. Then after the game the result etc will be updated:

League – Sat 18 Mar 2017 15:00 STOKE 1 VS CHELSEA 2
Walters (38)
Willian (13), Cahill (87)
Attendance: 27,724 & Referee: Anthony Taylor

Cahill celebrates his 87th minute winner at Stoke

Pre-Match Predictions:

Oliver – Stoke 1 Chelsea 3
Alexis – Stoke 0 Chelsea 3
George – Stoke 0 Chelsea 2

A hard thought game in which Stoke were their usual physical selves but we matched them and kept going until the end. Which Conte always wants from his team and he is certainly getting and we’re sure he will until the end of the season. No stopping us now!

FA Cup – Mon 13 Mar 2017 19:45 CHELSEA 1 VS MAN UNITED 0 – BBC
Kanté (51)
Attendance: 40,801 & Referee: Michael Oliver

Pre-Match Predictions:
Oliver – Chelsea 1 Man United 1 but us to win in extra time
Alexis – Chelsea 2 Man United 1
George – Chelsea 2 Man United 0

United tried to kick us off the park from the start and they paid the price for it in the end with Herrera getting sending off. We were the better football team by far and deserved the victory in the end. De Gea pulled off plenty of saves to keep us at bay but he couldn’t stop Kante’s brilliant strike and we’re now off to Wembley to face Spurs.

League – Mon 6 Mar 2017 20:00 WEST HAM 1 VS CHELSEA 2 – Sky Sports
Lanzini (90+2)
Hazard (25), Costa (50)
Attendance: 56,984 & Referee: Andre Marriner

Pre-Match Predictions:

Oliver – West Ham 1 Chelsea 2
Alexis – West Ham 1 Chelsea 3
George – West Ham 1 Chelsea 2

Easy victory in the end, we obviously had more chances than them and we’re back to being 10 points clear. Hazard will get all the plaudits once again for his goal, but the man N’Golo Kanté was once again pivotal in the move. The way he breaks up play and gets the ball off the opposition is outstanding and he was key to our first goal.

Hazard celebrates his goal but Kante was the key to the move
