Premier League Champions 2017

What can we say, Chelsea are the champions of England and winners of the Premier League. Of course we all knew that a few weeks ago now, we’ve been bookies favourites to win the Premier League for most of the season. But this is just a quick celebration from the moment when Batshuayi converted that goal against West Brom to us lifting the title.

Winning the league this year was an excellent achievement after the turmoil of last season and what went on. Our club was all about off the pitch than on it last season, but that is now a very distant memory.

Captain, Leader, Legend – good luck in the future JT

The memory we now have is of our captain, leader, legend John Terry being on the pitch for his last game at The Bridge against Sunderland and lifting that Premier League trophy. It was a brilliant move to give him a start and take him off to a standing ovation on 26 minutes in my opinion and for every home fan in the ground that day.

After 22 years at the club, Conte said he “deserved the start” and it’s fitting that his team has won the league again and he will now always be a legend of this great club. Winning with two games to spare allowed Terry to lead the team out as well for his final game and for Chelsea’s final game of 25 years in the Premier League.

As for Conte and the season itself, winning 30 league games as a manager in your first season in England is an unbelievable statistic. Even the great Sir Alex Ferguson never achieved that in all his successful years.

Antonio Conte getting soaked by a few of his players

We echo JT’s words “thank you for everything” as well to our owner Roman Abramovich, his hunger is still there every season like it was all those years ago when he took over. No matter what the team and who the manager is, he’s been there.

We have now won the league six times with five of those coming in the last thirteen years under the Russia.  Which means we’re now the second most successful club since the turn of the century. It won’t be long though until we’re first though if we continue this success.

For the final game against Sunderland we had goals for Willian, Hazard. Pedro but then how on earth did Batshuayis’ fourth goal stand? He was a mile off side? The linesman nor referee gave it though and with the last kick of the game and season made it 4-1. It was the black cats 26th defeat of the season, no wonder they’re rock bottom.

As the trophy was lifted I looked around the squad to realise it was a few players second league trophy, a couple their first time. Courtois with sixteen clean sheets so the future is bright but more important for me was that the players have adapted to change and learnt something new.

Roll on August 12th when we begin the defence of our title. It will be tougher of course, it always is but we should embrace that and the Champions League too.

Chelsea Chelsea! Champions Champions Champions!

Not winning the FA cup was frustrating against a poor Arsenal team this season but unfortunately they were actually the better team on the day. I’m not going to go into it too much as we lost and I think we should be talking about our success this season.

Before I forget, here are the results of our predictions this season. I won. Just. Whoop!

Oliver – 51 points in total (13 correct results, 5 correct score)
Alexis – 50 points in total (15 correct results, 4 correct score)
George – 48 points in total (14 correct results, 4 correct score)
